Other than the great plot and talented cast, I was mostly won over by the 1930's dresses that Ruth (Mary Louis Parker) wore throughout the film.

I couldn't find a lot of photographs where her lovely frocks where properly showcased, but you get the idea. Not to mention her beautiful hair. How did they do that?!
One of my all-time favorite movies for all of the same reasons. It is a classic. The south is a magical place, indeed!
