Autumn
I don't have a favorite season. I think my favorite time of year is the change of the seasons. Late summer transitioning into autumn, autumn transitioning into winter, winter slowly but surely getting warmer, and of course spring into full-blown summer. Granted I am tired of the winter after the holidays, I do love the first snowfall (and secretly I have already taken to drinking hot chocolate nightly- but that's a different story).
I was home 2 weekends ago for a photo-shoot, which was quite successful if I do say so myself. I'll be traveling back this Friday as well for my Father's birthday. It seems necessary to be in the South Shore for the fall. There really isn't anything quite like it.

My new bedroom!
So I finally have gotten settled into my new place in Brooklyn!
I have been getting used to biking to the L and taking the subway 20 minutes into Manhattan to get to class. It is nice to get on my bike every day, perhaps sometime I will even make it over the Williamsburg bridge...until then, subway.
These are just a few pictures of my new room. The entire thing doesn't feel quite ready yet, so I am only showing a few little bits!
There was a big deliberation over comforters...my mum and I went to every TJ Maxx and Marshalls in the bay state area it seemed, to find the perfect one. We couldn't choose between the tiny rosebud comforter, and the cottage rose quilt, so it was her idea to use them both. She's a smartie.
The crocheted and lace pillows were collected from various antique stores.
I couldn't believe when I found this (working!) typewriter on the side of the road! Someone had tried to sell it at a yardsale, but when they closed up shop around 3:00 pm, it went out to the road.
The wallpapered chest of drawers came from the Brimfield Antique Show. I spotted it in this one woman's booth, and went back and forth to it about four times before I realized how my heart would break if it didn't come home with me. $20 seemed pretty steep to me for such a thing, but I had to have it!
You'll also notice the adorable little postcards my boyfriend has been sending me. His blog is HERE. Lots of drawings and vintage photographs.
Also, thanks so much to my three international buyers! There are still some lovely things left in the shop, and I don't want to restock until I sell most of it all, so keep shopping :)

1960's Crochet Caddy!
Last Saturday my younger brother and I went on an Estate/Yard Sale binge. We drove to the outter-most part of Plymouth, back to Kingston, and a few times around, looking through people's old junk. My main destination was all the way south on Route 3, to an estate sale "in the big old white house". We got there, and it was about a quarter of the size that the newspaper ad had promised, but it was, in fact, outside of a big old white house. None the less, the prices were very reasonable and I made out quite well. I got a lovely little carpet-bag clutch with a dainty little metal strap, a big bag of old lace to tie my Etsy packages with, and this amazing yarn/crochet caddy. I nearly gasped when I saw the price tag....$1.00 -I'll take it!
Also, another Etsy update! My boyfriend and I went to The Garment District in Cambridge, MA last Sunday, a former favorite place of mine as a 14 year old, and that was probably the last time I had gone! I forgot what a goldmine that place is. I am now officially done buying until I begin selling...so shop, shop shop!
Edit: Just sold the drop-waist 1970's does the 20's dress. It was my boyfriend's favorite so he's all bummed out...but I am sure it will look much better on the new owner than I thought it looked on me...I was little a bit too 'hippy in it.
